Fincantieri North Florida Shipyards

Current Status: Under Construction
Fincantieri Group, who employs 19,000 people worldwide, plans to invest $30M and ramp up employment to 300 jobs in Jacksonville by 2028. Fincantieri Marine Systems North America is improving marine infrastructure on the Working Waterfront in preparation for a 500- foot, Navy-certified dry dock. FIS Headquarters

Current Status: Recently Completed
In July 2019, global fin-tech leader, FIS acquired Worldpay, one of the world’s leading global eCommerce and payment technology companies, making FIS a $12 billion company with 55,000 employees. FIS has recently opened a new, 12-story, 300,000-square-foot headquarters to support its growth in the Brooklyn District. FIS will consolidate its current headquarters and local offices into the new headquarters and plans to hire an additional 500 employees by 2029, bringing its Jacksonville workforce to approximately 1,800 employees. Investment: $145 million

Florida Baptist Convention Building

Current Status: Recently Completed
JWB Real Estate Companies recently converted the Baptist Convention Building to a mixed-use facility, comprised of two future mercantile suites, future restaurant spaces, and 24 studio and 1-bedroom apartments. The building was constructed in 1924 by Jacksonville famed Architect Henry John Klutho and is a National Historic Landmark Building. The building was abandoned for approximately 40+ years and followed NPS guidelines for historic renovations. This historic redevelopment project is a recipient of the DIA's Downtown Preservation and Revitalization Program (DPRP). Learn more about the program here: http://dia.coj.net/DPRP. Florida Casket Company

Current Status: Approved
The structure, originally the Florida Casket Company building, was constructed circa 1920. Project includes renovation of the three-story brick building and three-story addition to both the west and east building facades. The additions and alterations are necessary to support the mixed-use renovation of the building, which includes a museum, document archival and venue space.

Florida Theatre Renovations

Current Status: Recently Completed
"The Florida Theatre is closing from July to October for the next round of renovations in its Centennial Campaign, which started in 2019 to prepare the historic venue for its 100th anniversary in 2027. During the closure, the city-owned theater at 128 E. Forsyth St. Downtown will have all the decorative plaster in the auditorium repaired; the lobbies and auditorium will be painted; the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system will be replaced; the building’s electrical vault will be moved from the first to the third floor; and the public restrooms will be redesigned and renovated." Forest Street/Alfred duPont Place Improvements

Current Status: Recently Completed
This project included the realignment of the Alfred dupont Place, Forest Street, and Riverside Ave intersection. Aligning the roadway and sidewalks now provides a direct route to Gefen Park and the Northbank Riverwalk. This project also supported the construction of the new FIS headquarters.

Fuller Warren Bridge/Shared-Use Path

Current Status: Recently Completed
The Fuller Warren Bridge is a prestressed concrete girder bridge that carries Interstate 95 (I-95) across the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. The Florida Department of Transportation is currently constructing a $126 million project to add traffic lanes and add a new shared-use path to the bridge for pedestrians and bicyclists connecting San Marco and Riverside neighborhoods. The 12-foot-wide shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists will be on the south side of the bridge, separated from traffic by a fence. The railing will have artistic features developed with input from Riverside Avondale Preservation and the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. The bridge is available for using during construction and will have lane closures through the end of construction. The shared-use path opened April 2023.

Furchgott’s Building Adaptive Reuse

Current Status: Approved
This project by Lotus Commercial USA will be an adaptive reuse of a historic building. The mixed-use development will include 40 one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as fitness facilities, ground-floor amenities and 3,900 SF of retail space. Investment: $18 million Status: In review

Greenleaf & Crosby Building

Current Status: Under Construction
Currently undergoing a substantial rehabilitation to update mechanical systems and retain historic architectural features that make this building one of the finest in the downtown Historic District. The ground floor will have a restaurant space with basement seating with office in the upper floors.

Greyhound Bus Station

Current Status: Recently Completed
